Keep Your Tiny Love Closer Starting Today
When it comes to babywearing, those of us at Two Feathers Babywearing are never at a loss for words. We have plenty to say about its many benefits, all the different types of baby carriers, and, of course, everything that goes into the creation of our products. For us, babywearing is a fundamental part of our everyday lives, and sharing it with all of you is our mission. But, instead of just hearing from us every week, we want to broaden our horizons and bring you different perspectives. We want you to hear about real experiences from real people because we believe this helps foster togetherness throughout the community and contributes to the overall global awareness of babywearing.
Plus, it's a great way to connect with others, especially those looking for reassurance. We know first-hand how challenging parenthood can be. We all face similar obstacles and it often helps just to know we’re not alone.
Today, we’d like to introduce you to another long-time friend of Amy’s and a babywearing mama of three, Amber. We asked Amber a series of questions and can't wait to share her answers with you:
1. Why did you decide to start babywearing?
I wore my first child frequently, but it wasn't until I had my second that babywearing became an everyday thing. With one I could pretty much hold her all the time. With two, I needed my hands! My Two Feathers Babywearing Ring Sling made life so much easier for me; I could care for my toddler while keeping my baby close. I wanted my second child to be able to be held close a lot also and the sling made that possible!
2. What's your best babywearing moment?
I have so many favorite babywearing moments! I honestly think just being able to lean my head down and smell my baby's head is my favorite moment...and I get to do that anytime I want!
3. What does your husband think about babywearing and what benefits does he see with wearing the girls?
My husband is pro-babywearing. He knows how important it is, especially when they’re little, to be close to their mom. It's so important for breastfeeding moms, too. He was glad that babywearing made those things easier for me and how close we could be all the time. Not to mention, he didn't have to lug around a baby carrier!
4. What is your favorite thing about our Ring Sling? And what do you like about our Meh Dai?
I love how both the Ring Sling and the Meh Dai have the pocket. I can throw a diaper, wipes, phone, car keys, and wallet in there. It's makes running into places so fast and easy. Both are super comfy and the benefits of having my baby close makes them both so perfect!
5. What has been your biggest struggle as a mom? How did you overcome it?
My biggest struggles have been the decisions I’ve made for my kids and family. Sometimes our friends and extended family don’t necessarily agree with the decisions because they don't fit the mold of what they believe is right. This could be anything from choosing to breastfeed or formula feed, to vaccinate or not to vaccinate, to co-sleep or crib sleep, or to homeschool or send them to public school. There isn't just one way to do things and what works for my immediate family may not work for theirs, but that doesn't make either wrong.
For all mommies out there; find out what works best for you and your family and master it! All moms do things differently, and that's ok!
6. What part about being a mom do you love the most?
My kids are my life! There is nothing more fulfilling than being a mom. Yes, at times it's so hard, and some days I feel like I am an awful mom. And then there are days I feel like I could conquer the world.
But at the end of each day, the love I get from my kids and the love I give them makes everything wrong in the world right!
Amen, Amber! Thank you for candidly sharing some of your babywearing experiences with us. As parents and mothers, we are all on our own personal journeys, but it always helps to know we’re not in it alone and everyone has their own set of hurdles to overcome.
